Writing Assistant

The Writing Assistant adds AI-powered editing tools to Richtext fields in the Studio. Use it to draft content from a brief, fix grammar, simplify language, summarize text, rewrite in a different tone, or translate to another locale.

AI usage is billed in AI credits per project. Your plan includes a monthly credit allowance; additional usage may incur overages depending on your plan.

The Writing Assistant is available when:

  • The field is a Richtext field.
  • AI is enabled for your project (Settings → Plan & Billing).
  • Your project has AI credits available (Settings → Usage).
  1. Open an entry with a richtext field.
  2. Click inside the richtext field.
  3. Click the sparkles icon in the field toolbar to open the Writing Assistant menu.

Most tools work on selected text or on the whole field when your cursor is placed inside it. Compose works on empty fields to generate content from a brief.

| Tool | What it does | | ---- | ------------ | | Compose | Generate content from a brief when the field is empty. | | Proofread | Fix grammar, spelling, and punctuation. | | Simplify | Make the text easier to read. | | Summarize | Shorten the text while keeping the main points. | | Rewrite | Rewrite in a preset tone or with a custom instruction. | | Translate | Translate the text to another project locale. |

For Rewrite, choose a tone (such as professional, casual, or friendly) or enter a custom instruction describing how you want the text changed.

For Translate, pick the target locale from your project’s configured locales.

  1. Select text in the field, or place your cursor to run on the whole field (or use Compose on an empty field).
  2. Choose a tool from the Writing Assistant menu.
  3. Review the credit quote and confirm to run the tool.
  4. Review the suggested changes in the side panel.
  5. Accept or reject the changes.

Some operations, such as rewriting an entire long document, may ask you to confirm before running on the full field content.

  • Select a specific passage when you only want part of the field changed.
  • Use Compose when starting from scratch rather than trying to rewrite empty content.
  • Proofread and simplify work best on finished drafts; translate works on any selected text or the whole field.
